Bethany College's women's soccer coach Steve Moore recently announced the addition of defender Nina Vaagen to the Swedes' 2008 recruiting class.
Vaagen, a recent graduate of Randaberg VGS is from 4070 Rondaberg, Norway.  Vaagen also attended Lee High School in Baytown, TX for 1 year as a foreign exchange student.  During her year at Lee, Vaagen played for the HS team and earned All-District Honorable Mention honors as a central midfielder.

"I'm really looking forward to having Nina join the team this fall," states Coach Moore.  "She's a big, strong, physical defender, but also has a good touch on the ball.  Depth in our defense wasn't something we had much of last year, so her addition should mix things up a bit for us and make things significantly more competitive.  In talking with her club coach in Norway, and her former HS coach her in the states, I really think Nina's got a chance to come in be a solid addition for us."

Vaagen is the daughter of Marilyn and Geir Jarle Vaagen, and plans to major in Business Management at Bethany.
