Jeremy Cantrell has been named head baseball coach at Bethany College.

"Bethany College has provided me a great opportunity," said Cantrell. "I'm looking forward to taking full advantage of it." He added that his goal for the team will be to build on the Bethany baseball program's tradition of success.

Fifteen baseball Swedes earned KCAC honors for their efforts during the 2008 season.
 
Five earned first-team honors, four earned second-team honors, six earned honorable mention and two were named to the Rawlings-KCAC Gold Glove Team.

After winning the KCAC Post-Season Tournament title Saturday, the Swedes now prepare for the NAIA Region IV Tournament to be held May 7-10 at Hobart-Detter Field in Hutchinson, Kan.
 
The Swedes (6th seed) currently are scheduled to take on first-seed Bellevue University, Neb. in round one at 11 a.m. The Swedes are 37-14 while Bellevue is 45-12.
