"The mission of Bethany College is to educate, develop, and challenge individuals to reach for truth and excellence as they lead lives of faith, learning and service."

The mission of the Bethany College women's basketball program is also dedicated to educating, developing and challenging student athletes to seek excellence both on and off the court by following the core values already established by our great institution. The same core values that help shape what it means to be a member of the Bethany College community will be used as the framework for developing a championship caliber women's basketball program.

Integrity

"Integrity is both personal and communal as we seek knowledge, strive for understanding, and carry out Bethany's mission." Just as integrity can be described as an individuals inside identity, there are core values that the women's basketball program will follow to remain true to Bethany's identity. Some of the important core values that will be stressed within our program include passion, patience, honesty and faith.

Hospitality

"Hospitality encompasses the genuine care, grace, and generosity that is shared among all those who come in contact with Bethany." Student athletes within our program will demonstrate their appreciation for the academic and athletic opportunities provided by Bethany College by actively seeking out opportunities to engage in friendly interaction with those they come in contact with on a daily basis.

Community

"Community is formed at Bethany as we bring our diverse gifts and talents together for our common mission and purpose." The women's basketball program will seek to be the ultimate representation of fellowship among the many groups who make up the Bethany College community. The foundation of our program will be based on building relationships through open and honest communication.

Servant Leadership

"Leadership that is grounded in service liberates all who work and study at Bethany to be skilled, empathic listeners; to develop problem-solving skills; and to embrace the challenge of guiding others." Servant leadership provides an excellent opportunity for the players in our program to demonstrate internal and external character. Our players will be expected to put the team's needs in front of their own and make difficult decisions based not on what is easy or popular, but instead based on what is best for the team. To achieve our goals, we will need student athletes who are selfless in their pursuit to be part of a consistently successful basketball program.

Sustainability

"Sustainability is our stewardship of all aspects of the Bethany community both now and for future generations." My goal for the women's basketball at Bethany College is to build a program that consistently competes for championships on the court and generously reciprocates the support that is provided by friends, family, Bethany College and the surrounding community of Lindsborg.

"At Bethany College, we value individuals and believe in community."

If you choose to join the Bethany community as a member of the women's basketball team, we can promise you:

  • A world class educational experience at an ideal institution for young adults to find balance in their pursuit of academic and athletic success;
  • Open and honest communication from a coaching staff that genuinely care about the success and well-being of each individual player within the program;
  • An opportunity to be part of a basketball program that believe in community service and giving back to those who help us achieve success;
  • A chance to play in a basketball system that incorporates up-temp offensive strategies and aggressive defensive schemes;
  • To be a part in something bigger than yourself.
