The Bethany College baseball team ended their season on a disappointing note with a lost to Fort Hays State University and four losses to University of Saint Mary.
On April 24 Bethany was defeated 13-17 by Fort Hays State University.

The teams remained tied through the top of the sixth inning at 7-7. The Tigers added two that inning to take the lead. But Bethany rallied with six run scored in the top of the seventh. FHSU added one that inning and two the next. Bethany would fail to score the remaining two innings and with five Tiger runs in the bottom of the ninth, FHSU came away with the win.
On April 27 the Swedes hosted the Spires, losing 4-10 and 2-10.
Rodriguez was three for four with two RBI's while Matt Gabrielson was two for three with one run scored.
In game two the Swedes struggled to find their bats, managing just three hits. Roemon Fields was one for three scoring both runs on a homerun.
On the road April 28 the Swedes travelled to Leavenworth to take on the Spires for their final doubleheader of the regular season. The Swedes lost 2-7 and 1-4.
Rodriguez was two for three in game one scoring both runs on a homerun. Gibsom also hit two for three.
In game two the Swedes managed more hits but scored less runs. Fields was two for four while Jake Webster was two for three.
Head Coach Jeremy Cantrell said there is no doubt that the final five losses were a disappointing end to the season.
"We didn't execute in any area of the game and with that weren't able to create enough positives to sway the momentum of the series," Cantrell said.
Overall, Cantrell said he was pleased with the progress the program made throughout the season. One highlight being a big win over Central Christian College early in the season. Cantrell said he is pleased with his team's overall record being above .500.
"There are things to build on for next year," Cantrell said.
He added that he is very appreciative of the efforts of his seniors. "They represented the program in a very positive manner throughout the season."
The Swedes end their season 12-16 in conference play and 26-23 overall. The Swedes just missed the KCAC Postseason Tournament by finishing sixth. The top five teams kick off the tournament May 1 at Hobart-Detter Field in Hutchinson, Kan.
