Five baseball players earn KCAC honors

Five members of the baseball team have earned KCAC honors for their efforts during the 2012 season.

Roemon Fields, a junior outfielder from Seattle, Wash., was named to the 2012 Baseball Gold Glove Team. He also earned first-team all-conference honors. Fields is ranked no. 1 in the NAIA in fielding, no. 3 with total triples (9), no. 4 in triples per game (0.184), no. 5 in hits per game (1.653), and no. 5 in batting average (.450).

Jose Rodriguez, a junior first baseman from Vista, Calif., earned first-team all-conference honors. He is first in the KCAC in total home runs (16) and runs batted in (63). Rodriguez is also ranked no. 5 in the NAIA in runs batted in per game (1.286) and in total home runs (16). He is ranked no. 6 in home runs per game (0.327) and no. 7 in slugging percentage (0.780).

Jose Sermo, a junior infielder from Vega Alta, Puerto Rico, earned first-team all-conference honors. Sermo is ranked no. 10 in the NAIA in total triples (6).

Montana Prim, a senior relief pitcher from Springdale, Ark., earned second-team all-conference honors. Prim is first in the KCAC and ranked no. 37 in the NAIA in saves (5).

Morgan Heiman, a junior left-handed pitcher from Connell, Wash., earned honorable mention all-conference honors. Heiman is ranked no. 6 in the NAIA in total walks allowed (8).

The baseball team concluded it's 2012 season with a 12-16 conference record and 26-23 overall record.
