SWEDES FALL TO THE COYOTES

Lindsborg, Kan. - The Bethany College Baseball team played at home over the weekend against the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes. While they put up a good fight, it was not enough as they would go 0-3 in the series.  

Game 1

The Coyotes would start the game by scoring 3 runs in the first inning. Not being shown up by their rivals, the Swedes would also score 3 of their own in the same inning. Runs plentiful in this game as each team would frequently score throughout the game. Despite scoring 8 runs, the Swedes would lose this game 8-17 to the Coyotes. Noel Perez stood out with 3 runs and 3 hits for the day.

Game 2

This matchup was much more even with the Swedes keeping the score line closer towards the end. At the beginning of the 5^th inning the score would be 4-5 in favor of the Coyotes. The Swedes would do their best battle back and kept up multiple shutout innings. Unfortunately, the Coyotes would score 3 in the 8^th and win 4-9 in their favor. It was a tough loss to take but the Swedes looked to come back in the final game of the series.

Game 3

With the hopes high for Bethany College to come away with 1 win in the series, they gave their all to make the home fans proud. The final game of this series would be very one sided in favor of the Coyotes as the Swedes would fall 1-12 to their northern neighbors.

Up Next

The Bethany College Baseball team play against York on Tuesday in a single game as the continue to seek redemption and get another series win. While a win won't come easy, the Swedes are not ready to back down from anyone they face for the rest of the season.
