SWEDES FALL TO CAL STATE – LONG BEACH

Lindsborg, Kan. - On Sunday March 5, the Swedes Gold Call of Duty team faced off with the Sharks of California State University - Long Beach, and fell 0-3 in the series. On Map 1 Hardpoint Embassy, the Swedes would compete well with the Sharks, before losing control at the end and falling 166-250. Junior Chris "Toxic" Yoder would lead the Swedes with 23 kills, while junior Lauren "Valkyrie" Crotinger would lead the Swedes with 63 seconds of Hardpoint time.

In Map 2, the Swedes would struggle to find any momentum and fall 0-6 on Embassy Search and Destroy. A few successful round openings would give the Swedes a chance at success, but time would not be in their favor as they were not able to close out any rounds. Junior Hayley "Burry" Berry would lead the Swedes with a 5-5 statline. 

In Map 3, the Swedes would find scattered success, losing two close rounds before claiming Round 3 for themselves. Lives and time would prove to be an issue in Round 4 as the Swedes looked to push the map to the brink, as they would fall 1-3. Toxic once again led the Swedes with 26 kills, while Burry posted 21 of her own. Freshman Jacob "McDoughy" Newman and Toxic would lead the Swedes with 12 assists a piece.

The next matchup for the Swedes comes on Tuesday, March 14 agains the University of Texas and the University of Oregon.
