HORNETS OUTLAST SWEDES WITH EARLY GOAL

LINDSBORG, KAN. – The Bethany College Swedes hosted the Harris-Stowe State University Hornets in a non-conference matchup that ended with the Swedes falling to the Hornets 1-0.

In the first half, Harris-Stowe was able to jump out to a 1-0 lead after intercepting a throw-in attempt by the Swedes. The Hornets would drive down the field and cross it to one of their strikers who placed the ball right down the middle between two Bethany defenders.

The Swedes would play aggressive towards the end of the match taking three shots in the final 15 minutes of play, but none would be on goal as they were either missed or deflected by a defender. The Swedes would continue to press but to no avail and fall 1-0.

Bethany would tally 5 shots (all in the second half) with none on goal. Jake Goldstein would record two saves on the night; one in each half. Josh Amador would lead the team in shot attempts with 2.
