LINDSBORG, KAN. – The Bethany College Swedes Men's Soccer Team played host to the McPherson College Bulldogs in a KCAC Matchup Wednesday, October 11.
Mother Nature would play a huge factor in the match as the team with the wind at their backs were at a huge advantage. The Swedes would begin play with the aforementioned advantage, and would capitalize on the advantage early. Alberto Rodriguez would execute a perfect tackle allowing Ryan Morales to gain possession. Morales would find Fernando Villaseca who passed it to Jarit Mejia for the score from the football goal line. The Swedes would take a 1-0 lead and hold on to it for the rest of the half.
The second half would begin slow, but the Bulldogs would ultimately get it together and rattle of five straight goals in the final 17 minutes of play. Bethany would tally the final goal of the evening by way of free kick from Steve McQueen, but the Swedes would fall 5-2.
Jake Goldstein would start in goal for the Swedes and record 5 saves on the evening.
Up Next…
