SWEDES BATTLE; FALL TO EAGLES

LINDSBORG, KAN. – The Bethany College Men's Soccer Team played host to the Avila University Eagles for Hyllningsfest and Homecoming weekend.

It would only take eight minutes for the Eagles to get on the board. It wouldn't take the Swedes long after that to even it up as, four minutes later, Inigo Fernandez was able to shoot the ball past the goalie to tie it up 1-1. Both teams would go silent for the rest of the half.

In the second half, Avila would score just four minutes after play resumed by way of penalty kick. In the 56^th minute Benito Ausley would find Fernando Villaseca in the middle to even it up at two apiece. The Eagles would score the game-winner in the 68^th minute to take this one 3-2.

Plenty of Swedes would shoot their shots as four different athletes took 2 shots. Four different Swedes would also tally one shot on goal including the goals by Fernandez and Villaseca, respectively.

Jake Goldstein held it down in-goal with 3 saves over 90 minutes.

The Swedes are set to hit the road and head to Hillsboro, Kansas for a matchup with the Tabor College Bluejays. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm on Wednesday, October 18^th.
