Swedes Show Promise at Terry Masterson Twilight Classic
Hutchinson, Kan. - The Bethany College Men's and Women's Cross Country teams were in action on Friday night at the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic hosted by Hutchinson Community College. The men competed in a four-mile race while the women competed in a three-mile race.
For the Swedes men's team they were led by William Aguero, freshman, who finished 40th out of 167 competitors with a time of 22:55.4. He was followed by Jackson Wallace, freshman, who placed 50th with a time of 23:123.0. The men's team had a team total of 2:00:56 to take 13th out of 17 competing teams.
The Swedes women's team finished 11th with a time of 2:00:16. They were led by Zoe Auld who finished in a time of 21:41.5 taking 53rd out of 119 competitors. Elyse Boden, sophomore, placed 61st as she finished in a time of 22:17.2.
Head Cross Country Coach Aaron Yoder was pleased with his squad's performance saying, "The Swedes ran strong and will be looking to improve on last season. This was a great start for a young team."

The Swedes will be back in action on Friday September 10 when they head to McPherson, Kansas to take part in the KCAC Championship Preview. That race is set to begin at 6:15 PM with the men competing in an 8K and the women competing in a 5K.
