Leavenworth, Kan.- The Bethany College Swedes were on the road, Saturday, April 13th taking on the University of St. Mary Spires in a weekend double header. The Swedes fell to the Spires in both games, Game 1: 2-5, and Game 2: 1-6.

Game 1: The Spires came out of the gate hot, quickly scoring 2 runs in the first inning and another in the 2nd inning, 0-3. Shantell Evans would hit a home run in the top of the 4th inning, 1-5 and Tamia Butler would hit a single to left field to allow Maggie Heath to score, 2-5. Shantell Evans hit her second homerun of the day tying up the game at 1-1 heading into the bottom of the 2nd inning. Unfortunately, this would be where the Spires took control back. The Spires would score a run in each inning until the 5th inning where they scored two runs. Final score, Swedes: 1, Spires: 6.
