MARTINEZ EARNS KCAC SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Wichita, Kan. - Lilliana Martinez has earned the KCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week honors the conference office announced Monday. Martinez was selected for her performances from April 15-21 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.
Lilliana is the first Swede to be recognized for her play with weekly honors this year. This is the third weekly honor Martinez has received in her career; second time as a pitcher.
Martinez had a solid week in the circle as the Swedes didn't allow a single run to be scored all week. She led the charge with two complete games, tallying 14 strikeouts. Lilliana proved she could get herself out of a jam, racking up multiple strikeouts with runners in scoring position to preserve both complete game shutouts.
