Swedes Fall at First Road Game Against Dickinson State

Lindsborg, KS. -

The Swedes traveled to Bellevue Nebraska to face off against Dickinson State on Friday October 28th. 

The Swedes started off the first quarter where in the 7th minute Senior Autumn Garrett made a jump shot landing the Swedes on the score board 2 Bethany- 5 Dickson State. 20 seconds after Autumn Garret put up another shot jump for the Swedes. Ending the first quarter the Swedes were trailing Dickinson State 9-18. 

In the second quarter Sophomore Kisa Unruh sank a 3-pointer with an assist from Sophomore Sierra Kimbrough. The Swedes had a total of 10 rebounds this quarter. Going into the third quarter the Swedes trailed Dickinson State 23-38. The Swedes began to put more shots up in the third quarter as Lauren Gleason made a layup, R'Maine Pulling made a jump shot, Emily Weathers made 3 jump shots and Autumn Garrett made 2 jump shots. The Swedes continued to rebound with another 10 in this quarter. The Swedes put up a good effort for the fourth quarter as Emily Weathers scored an additional 2 jump shots followed by Kisa Unruh's layup. The Swedes had a total of 13 rebounds in the fourth quarter. 

The leading goal scorer for the Swedes was Junior Emily Weathers with 14 points, 1 steal, and 5 rebounds followed by Senior Autumn Garrett with 12 points for the game, 1 steal, 1 assist and 5 rebounds. Sophomore Kisa Unruh has a total of 8 points, 1 assist, 2 rebounds and 3 steals for the Swedes. The team put forth a good effort but were unlucky in securing a win.
