SWEDES SECURE FIRST ROAD WIN AGAINST BRUINS

Lindsborg, KS. -

The Swedes traveled to Bellevue Nebraska to face off against Bellevue University on Saturday October 29th. 

The Swedes started off the first quarter strong as Sarah Reiner made a layup in the first minute. In the 8th minute Autumn Garret made a layup evening the score out 4-4. In the 4th minute R'maine Pulling sank a 3 pointer with an assist from Autumn Garrett. The first quarter ended with a score of 14-15 with Bellevue in the lead. The Swedes had a total of 9 rebounds the first quarter. 

In the second half, Sierra Kimbrough sank a 3-pointer for the Swedes with an assist from Sarah Reiner. The Swedes had a total of 10 rebounds the second quarter and finished out the quarter trailing the Bruins 30-36. The Swedes started off the third quarter strong with another jump shot scored by Emily Weathers in the first minute. Autumn Garrett sank a 3 pointer in the 8th minute with an assist from Sierra Kimbrough. Emily Weathers then sank another 3 pointer for the Swedes in the 7th minute securing another assist for Autumn Garrett. The Swedes ended the third quarter 48-49 against the Bruins. Once again though the Swedes started the quarter out string as Kylie Dunn made a jump shot in the first minute of the fourth quarter. The Swedes secured the win 71-70 with a final jump shot scored by Autumn Garrett with 3 seconds left on the clock. 

The leading goal scorer for the Swedes was Senior Autumn Garrett with 17 points for the game, 1 steal, 1 block, 3 assist and 7 rebounds. R'Maine Pulling came in second as a leading scorer for the Swedes with 12 points, 1 steal and 1 rebound. Emily Weathers had the most rebounds for the team totaling 9 throughout the game additionally she had 11 points, 1 assist and 1 block.
