SWEDES SECURE SEASON SWEEP OF COYOTES
Lindsborg, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Women's Basketball Team kept their win streak alive as they faced off the Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes.
The Coyotes scored first in the game but the Swedes quickly responded ending the first quarter with a 13-8 lead. Going into the second quarter the Swedes remained strong scoring two 3-pointers, one by Emily Green and one by R'Maine Pulling. The Swedes held their lead 20-24 to end the second quarter.
Coming out of halftime the Swedes put 18 points on the board, 7 of those being scored by Emily Green. Ending the third quarter the Swedes still held a lead but the Coyotes managed to bring their points back up making the third quarter score 40-42. Going into the fourth and final quarter of the game both teams came out strong looking for the win. The Swedes were able to secure the win with a final score of 62-56.
Leading scorer for R'Maine Pulling had a total of 15 points for the Swedes with 4 assists. Emily Weathers was the leading rebounder for the Swedes with 10 rebounds, she also scored in the double digits with 14 points making her the second leading goal scorer. Emily Green also scored in the double digits with 12 points and was the second leading rebounder with 7.
The Swedes had a field goal percentage of 33.9% which was barely lower than the Coyotes field goal percentage of 34.5%. The field goal of Kansas Wesleyan was 20 to 58 compared to Bethany's Field goal of 19 to 56. The Swedes had a 3-point percentage of 30% compared to the Coyote's 21.1%.
Further, the Swedes had a total of 11 assists, 34 rebounds and 20 points off of turnovers. These stats compare to the Coyotes 10 assists, 36 rebounds and 14 points off of turnovers.

The Swedes will hit the road on Saturday January 21st to travel to Kansas City, MO to face off the Avila University Eagles. Tipoff is set for 3pm.
