SWEDES SECURE SECOND SEASON WIN AGAINST EAGLES

Lindsborg, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Women's Basketball Team kept their win streak alive against the Avila Eagles. 

The Swedes started the game out strong securing a 24 to 8 lead. Emily Weathers scored 8 points while Kisa Unruh and Emily Green both sank a 3-pointer. Going into the second quarter the Swedes secured another 21 points on the board. Kisa Unruh sank another 3-pointer while R'Maine Pulling, Emily Weathers and Martina Aeschliman secured 4 points. Coming out of halftime the Swedes would have a slower scoring quarter with only 9 points on the board. Emily Weathers secured another 3-pointer. In the fourth and final quarter the Swedes secured an additional 14 points securing them the win 68-33. 

 Leading scorer for the Swedes was Emily Weathers with 15 points, 1 assist, and 2 rebounds. Second leading scorer for the Swedes was Sarah Reiner with 8 points and 4 rebounds. Leading rebounder for the Swedes was Martina Aeschliman with 5 rebounds. 

Field Goal percentage for the Swedes was 49.1% compared to Avila's percentage was 26.8%. 3-point percentage for the Swedes was 31.3% compared to Avila's percentage was 15%. Bethany had 35 rebounds compared to Avila's 31 rebounds. Additionally, the Swedes had 17 assists compared to 7. Bethany secured 33 points off turnovers.

The Swedes will face off against the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles in Hanh Gymnasium with a 6:00pm tipoff.
