DOMINATING FIRST HALF LEADS SWEDES TO 28 POINT VICTORY OVER OTTAWA

Lindsborg, Kan.- The Bethany College Swedes hosted the Ottawa University Braves, Saturday, February 17^th. The Swedes came into the game with a record of 11-8 and the Braves with a record of 9-9.

1^st: The Swedes kicked off the game with a three-pointer by Kisa Unruh assisted by Kylie Dunn to take the advantage over the Braves, 3-2 with 9:25 on the clock. A little over two minutes go by and Bethany extends their advantage to three after a successful layup by Lauren Gleason, 5-2 with 7:13 left to play. Bethany continued to try and extend their lead while the Braves were experiencing a six-minute scoring drought. However, Ottawa managed to tie up the game at 7-7 with 2:49 left in the quarter. From there, the Swedes would go on a 7-0 run to finish out the quarter, 14-7, Bethany up by seven.

2^nd: Similar to the first quarter, The Swedes would limit the Braves to only scoring nine additional points in the second quarter and would outscore Ottawa 19-9. Bethany shot 50% from the field goal range during the this quarter and halfway through lead by ten, 23-13. The Swedes continued to dominate the court and force turnovers. The score at the end of the half was 33-16, Bethany up by seventeen. R'Manie Pulling was the leading scorer for the Swedes with 7 points for the half and several others with six points apiece including Jaden Newfarmer, Lauren Gleason, and Kisa Unruh and Hannah Banko.

3^rd: As Bethany came out of halftime, they were right back in rhythm. The Swedes would outscore the Braves, 21-11 in the third quarter, shooting 60%. With 5:41 on the clock, Bethany extended their lead to twenty-five, 44-21 with a layup by Jaden Newfarmer, assisted by Lauren Gleason. By the end of the quarter, the Swedes lead by twenty-seven, 54-27. Leading the Swedes in scoring was Jaden Newfarmer and Hannah Banko both with an accumulated 10 points after three quarters.

4^th: Ottawa would find some success in the fourth quarter but Bethany would still outscore the Braves, 20-19 and shooting 36.8%. Kisa Unruh would knock down another three in the beginning of the final quarter assisted by Jaden Newfarmer, 57-27 with 9:41 left to play. Bethany wouldn't stop there, they extended their lead to thirty-seven with 5:51 after a successful free throw by Colbi Rignell. Ottawa managed to chip away at the deficient. Final score was 74-46 in favor of the Swedes.

Notable stats include, Colbi Rignell with 2 steals, 4 rebounds, and 1 block, Emily Green with 2 steals and 6 rebounds, Lauren Gleason with 5 rebounds, R'Manie Pulling with 5 assists, 11 points, and 1 block, Kisa Unruh with 3 blocks, 4 rebounds, and 14 points, Hannah Banko with 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 block, and Jaden Newfarme with the double-double, 11 rebounds, 15 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals.

Bethany will be on the road, Wednesday, February 21^st, taking on the University of St. Mary Spires in Leavenworth, KS. The Spires have a conference record of 18-2. Tipoff scheduled for 6:00 pm.
