BANKO RETURNS TO BETHANY AS ASSISTANT COACH

Lindsborg, Kan. - The Bethany College Athletic Department is excited to welcome Hannah Banko back as Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. She will also serve as a game management assistant and a resident director.  

Hannah Banko joins the Bethany College Women's Basketball staff with some familiarity. She played for the Swedes from 2020-2024, competing in 49 games while averaging 4.1 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. During her junior year, Banko was also a coaching intern for the men's basketball team helping analyze game film and form scouting reports.  

Before coming to play for the Swedes, Banko also knew now Head Women's Basketball Coach, Mickey DeVries, as he coached her in high school at Skyview Academy. 

"I'm excited to return to Bethany as the assistant coach," said Banko. "Having spent four years here as a student-athlete, I know firsthand the standards and culture that make this program special. This program played a major role in my development, both as a player and as a person, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to give back in a new role. I'm excited to get to work, help our student-athletes grow on and off the court, and do everything I can to contribute to the continued success of our program." 

Prior to rejoining the Swedes, Coach Banko was a graduate assistant coach for the women's basketball team with the Benedictine College Ravens from 2024-2026. She assisted with all daily operations with the team, helped with recruiting, planned and supervised practices, analyzed film, and collaborated with the coaching staff while supporting student-athletes in academics, athletics, and personal development.  

"Bringing Hannah back to Bethany is an exciting addition for our program," said Head Coach DeVries. "She has a genuine passion for developing student-athletes, brings fresh ideas and energy every day, and we're looking forward to the impact she'll have on our team." 

Banko earned her Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science from Bethany College in 2024 and completed her Master of Business Administration degree at Benedictine College in 2026.
