LINDSBORG, KAN. -
Saturday night the Swedes kicked off the against the Eagles where four goals were scored in the run of play with two additional goals from penalty kicks for the Eagles. In the first five minutes of the game, OKWU managed to sink a goal in the Swedes net. Two minutes later the Eagles managed to find the back of the net again. The Swedes were then able to hold down the half until the 29th minute when the Eagles earned a PK, finding the top left of the goal raising the score to 3-0. When the second half started the Eagles again managed to find and early goal occurring at the 47th minute and then again in the 64th minute. The final goal made by the Eagles was off of another penalty kick.
While the Swedes did have shots on frame they were just unlucky in securing the balls place at the back of the net. In the 22nd minute of the game Skyler Armstrong took a shot on goal that was saved by OKWU's keeper. In the first half, Mackenzie Nutter played keeper where she made two saves and blocked 3 other shots taken by OKWU. In the second half, Ariana Hurley, Danielle McSeveney and Emily Mokricky both put shots on frame that we blocked by Oklahoma Wesleyan. Goal keeper, Ashlynn Bolieu, had one save and assisted in locking 3 additional shots taken by OKWU.
The Swedes fought until the end but were just unlucky in securing results they wanted.
