The Swedes started off strong against the Spires. Senior Melissa Estrada scored in the first 5 minutes of the game with an assist from Sophomore Devynn Knipp. Saint Mary managed to tie up the score in the 17th minute in the game. Saint Mary managed to secure the ball in the back of the net to secure their lead in the 54th minute of the game. Bethany had a total of 2 shots on goal compared to Saint Mary's 8 shots on goal. Freshman goal keeper Mackenzie Nutter had a total of 3 saves for the game.
The Swedes battled hard but were just unlucky in their efforts to secure a win.
