On Saturday October 29th the Swedes played their last conference game of the season against the Avila University Eagles in Kansas City, MO.
Senior Danielle McSeveney took a shot on goal in the 2nd minute of the game that was saved by the Avila Keeper. Danielle McSeveney then had a follow up shot that hit the crossbar. Senior Melissa Estrada had a shot that went wide of the goal left in the 10th minute. The Eagles secured their first goal in the back of the net in the 11th minute of the game by Amaris Sigler with an assist by Kirryn Killngsworth for the Eagles. The Eagles scored their second goal of the game in the 40th minute of the game by Avila Megan. The Swedes came back out strong the second half putting shots back on goal. Senior Melo Baca took a shot in the 52nd minute that was saved by the goalie for the Eagles. Melissa Estrada took another shot in the 54th minute that hit the crossbar. The Eagles secured their third and final goal of the game in the 79th minute by Megan Nugent.
Goal Keeper for the Swedes Mackenzie Nutter had a total of 6 saves for the game. Bethany took a total of 6 shots on goal and had 2 corner kicks.
This game marked the end of the conference season for the Bethany Swedes for Fall 2022. They were unlucky this year in securing a seat in the playoffs but hope to make a comeback next year.
