LINDSBORG, KAN. – The Bethany College Women's Soccer Team played host to the Avila University Eagles for Hyllningsfest and Homecoming weekend.
In yet another match where wind played a huge factor, the Eagles, who were playing into the wind, were able to score twice in the first 30 minutes. It wouldn't take too long before the Swedes would jump on the board with an impressive shot by Skyler Armstrong from the right side. Armstrong was able to place it on the top shelf out of reach of the goalkeeper. Unfortunately, that would be all the scoring the for the match as the second half would yield zero goals. The Swedes would fall 2-1.
Mariah Ibanez would lead the Swedes in total shots with three. Ibanez would tie Skyler Armstrong with two shots on goal; the latter tallying the lone goal for Bethany.
Mackenzie Nutter and Molly Atchley would split time in goal again as Nutter drew the start tallying four saves while Atchley recorded two saves.
The Swedes would play a clean game recording only 8 fouls compared to the Eagles 16 fouls and one yellow card.
