SWEDES SPLIT WITH RIVALS UP NORTH

Salina, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Tennis teams took the road to Salina, Kan. to take on their biggest rivals from up north, the Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes.

The women took one of the three doubles matches. The #3 doubles team of Karee Adam and Elise Richardson won their match 7-5. The men took the doubles point by winning two of the three tight contests. The #2 duo of Gustavo Cardoso and Sebastian Stipanov won their match 6-4 while the #3 team of Dylan Gwilt and Diego Bsereni won 7-5.

In singles, for the women, the Swedes were unable to take a single set. Makenna Russom (#3 single) played hard, but ultimately fell 6-7 (2-7), 3-6.

For the men, the #1, #2, #3, #4, and #6 singles each won their matches. Martin Priban (#3 single) had the best outing with a 6-2, 6-2 line score.

The Swedes get to make their longest trip of the year as they head to Springfield, Mo. to take on the Evangel University Valor. Matches are set for Saturday, March 11 at 10:00 AM.
