SWEDES EARN FIRST PLAYOFF VICTORY IN DECADE OVER COYOTES

Lindsborg, Kan. – The Bethany College Women's Tennis team qualified for the KCAC Tennis Championships for the fourth year in a row. They entered the tournament as the #5-seed and took on the Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes in the first round of the playoffs.

The doubles point went to the Coyotes giving them an advantage entering singles play. In singles, the Swedes turned it on and took care of business. Ana Sofia Castillo Paz (#1 Singles) made quick work in her match winning 6-3, 6-2. Karee Adam (#6) also handled business with a similar score of 6-2, 6-3 to give the Swedes a 2-1 lead.

Helen Harbit (#4) won her match 6-4, 6-4 to give the Swedes match-point. Kyla Metro (#2) would finish off the Coyotes with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-7 (4-7), 6-0 victory to seal the deal and give the Swedes their revenge from a loss to the Coyotes earlier in the season.
