SWEDES FALL TO THE PANTHERS IN FOUR SETS

LINDSBORG, KAN. - The Bethany College Volleyball team hosted the York University Panthers in a non-conference match up. The Swedes struggled on the court and lost to the Panthers in four sets.  

The Swedes and the Panthers were going back and forth in the first set until the Panthers took the lead and secured the set 25-21. The second set was also neck and neck with Bethany up 22-19, however the momentum did not continue as the Panthers came back and won the set 25-23 due to errors by the Swedes. Bethany fought out the third set and won 28-26 in an extra-long set. The Swedes were trailing closely behind the Panthers but were never able to jump ahead, losing the last set 21-24.  

Madison McGuire had 4 kills out of 11 attempts with 0 errors, having a .364 kill percentage. Alyssa George had 4 aces while Destinee Roby had 3 aces and no serving errors.

The Swedes will have an opportunity to bounce back on Saturday, September 9th in a tri meet against Saint Mary University and Peru State University. The Swedes are set to play at 1:00PM and 3:00PM in Leavenworth, Kan.
