ORTIZ EARNS KCAC VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Wichita, Kan. - Michelle Acevedo Ortiz has earned the KCAC Volleyball Defender of the Week. Ortiz was one of three players to earn honors this week. She was selected for her performances from Oct. 30-Nov. 5 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.

Ortiz has been playing her best volleyball the past couple of weeks. Just this week, Ortiz averaged 10.38 digs per set this week, helping to increase her average, which has been trending upward as the season goes on. She currently sits 7th in the NAIA and leads the KCAC with 6.09 digs per set this season (6.55 during conference play) and will look to continue her hot streak as the Swedes enter the postseason.
