Baldwin City, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes took a trip to Baldwin City, Kan. to take on the Baker University Wildcats.
The Swedes would take the first set 25-22 leading the entire way since breaking a 4-4 tie. The Wildcats would take the final three sets of the contest to win the match 3-1.
Jordyn Carpenter would lead the way for the Swedes with 12 kills while adding 11 digs and a block assist. Auriana Nails tacked on eight kills, a service ace, and a team-high in assists with 16. Michelle Acevedo Ortiz led Bethany with 28 digs and 11 assists.

The Swedes will return home to enjoy an extended weekend to celebrate Labor Day before getting back on the court, this time in Springfield, Mo. They will be competing in a quad featuring the host, and conference foe, Evangel University on Friday, September 5, before taking on both Mission University and Texas A&M-Texarkana on Saturday, September 6.
