MEN ROLLING ON ALL CYLINDERS AGAINST BLUEJAYS

Lindsborg, Kan. - The Men's Bethany College Basketball team hosted Tabor College that resulted in a Swede win. It was a Swede Sweep as the Women's Basketball team also defeated the Bluejays. 

The Swedes opened up the first half by scoring eleven points in less than four minutes, before the Bluejays were able to get on the scoreboard. The Swedes played sound defense, finishing the first half ahead 36-21. Coach Dan O'Dowd said, " We wanted to set the tone on the defensive end, come out and take away what they were trying to do." The Men continued to play solid defense, leading to a fifteen point cushion at the half. 

Bethany kept up the momentum in the second half as Coach O'Dowd commented, "Our guys were locked in from the beginning and I thought we did a better job in the second." Coach also said that "Overall I was pleased, I thought that everyone who came into the game contributed". The Swedes ended up securing the twenty-one point victory. 

Solomon Clayton led Bethany will 17 along with a 3 crowd roaring dunks. Dylan Smith added 13 and 8 assists, Jah-kez Moore scored 10 while Malcom Clayton tallied 9 and 5 assists. Bethany shot 31 of 60, leading to a 51.7 shooting percentage while holding Tabor to a 31.4 shooting percentage, 16 of 51. The Swedes had 20 assists on the night while forcing 26 turnovers from the Bluejays.

Next up for Bethany is a trip to Nebraska this Saturday night, December 10th, to play York University. Tip off is scheduled for 5:00 PM in Freeman Center.
