McPherson, Kan. - The Bethany College Men's Soccer team made the 20 minute trip down to McPherson to take on conference foe McPherson College.
In the first half the Swedes had everything going right for them. In the first 15 minutes, the Swedes maintained possession of the ball while taking their only 3 shots of the half early on. Ball movement was on point and communication helped the Swedes come out of the gates strong. Unfortunately they would not be able to keep up that strong play throughout the half. Quickly things changed for the Swedes as McPherson was able to catch fire and pop off with 13 shots in the half to really run away with the game. Of those 13 shots, 5 of them were saved by the Swedes keeper Jake Goldstein and 2 of the 13 found the back of the net. In the 30th minute of the match Samuel Box gave McPherson the lead and then they would go on to add another in the 41st minute on a goal by Saul Munoz assisted by Daniel Connell.
That would be all the action in the game as not much took place in the 2nd half. The Swedes looked to make some adjustments but nothing was working against the McPherson defenders. In the half McPherson sat back and just played defense as they already had the lead and looked to hold onto it for the victory. McPherson would win by the score of 2-0 and bring their conference record to 3-1-2 and Bethany's record to 2-1-1.
