Yankton, SD – The Bethany College Swedes Women's Soccer Team took the road to Yankton, South Dakota to face the Mount Marty University Lancers in the Swedes final non-conference matchup of the year, but would fall 2-1.
The first half would yield plenty of shots, but nothing to show for them as both teams would enter the second half tied 0-0. In the second half, the Lancers would find the back of the net first by way of a penalty kick in the 61st minute. Jysell Sampedro would score her second goal of the season assisted by Jacqueline Escalera in the 82nd minute to even the score, but Mount Marty would answer right back four minutes later with a goal of their own. The Swedes would fail to find a quick answer to the goal and fall 2-1.
Jacqueline Escalera would lead the attack with three shots; two on goal. Mackenzie Nutter would get the nod to protect the Swedes' goal and tally 5 saves on the night.
